Every assignment is an invitation to help shape the conversations our communities deserve to have.
This time, we’re commissioning two articles. Yes, that means we’re going to pay you for your words.
Our goal is to build a community that archives and celebrates Black ideas and thought—while becoming a real resource for the Black writers creating them. So when we get opportunities to bring money back into the community, we do.
This commissioned Writer Call is available exclusively to our paid subscribers. Your subscription helps make this work possible—supporting original writing, creating paid opportunities for Black writers, and helping us continue building this platform.
You don’t need to be a professional journalist. You don’t need a journalism degree. You don’t need a massive following. You need something to say.
If you’ve been waiting for a reason to write, this is it.
