Put some respect on the South
Between the news of Nolan Wells and the lynching of Tasia, the question keeps coming: “Why are Black people still living in the South?”
It is a question that resurfaces after nearly every Southern tragedy—a police shooting, a racist law, a hate crime, or another ranking declaring Louisiana or Mississippi the “worst state” in America.
Just leave. As if geography is the problem. As if racism ends at the Mason-Dixon Line.
